Commissioner Jon A. Heaberlin Sworn in as Judge of the Santa Clara County Superior Court

SAN JOSÉ, California (November 22, 2024): Hon. Jon A. Heaberlin was officially sworn in as a Judge of the Santa Clara County Superior Court today, marking a significant milestone in his legal career. The ceremony, held in the presence of family, friends, and colleagues, celebrates Judge Heaberlin’s transition from his role as Commissioner to Judge.

Judge Heaberlin has served as a Commissioner at the Santa Clara County Superior Court since 2023, bringing a wealth of judicial and legal experience to his new position. Prior to his tenure at the Court, Heaberlin was a trial lawyer and Partner at the esteemed law firm Rankin | Stock | Heaberlin | Oneal from 2005 to 2023, and previously served as an Associate from 1998 to 2005. His extensive background in both legal practice and judicial roles makes him well-equipped to serve the Santa Clara County community in this elevated capacity.

Judge Heaberlin earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Santa Clara University School of Law, and his appointment fills the vacancy left by the retirement of Judge Nona Klippen. With his diverse legal background and a longstanding dedication to the judiciary, Heaberlin’s appointment is expected to bring a fresh perspective and continued excellence to the Court.
