Governor Newsom Appoints Two New Judges to the Santa Clara County Superior Court

SAN JOSÉ, Calif. (April 17, 2026):  The Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara is pleased to announce that Gavin Newsom appointed Maren Clouse and Mary Procaccio-Flowers to serve as Judges of the Santa Clara County Superior Court on April 16, 2026.

Maren Clouse, of Santa Clara County, has served as a Chief Deputy City Attorney at the San José City Attorney’s Office since 2016.

Previously, Ms. Clouse was an Associate and Counsel at Hogan Lovells from 2008 to 2016. She also worked as an Associate at Heller Ehrman from 2003 to 2008.

Ms. Clouse earned her Juris Doctor degree from Stanford Law School. She fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Thang N. Barrett.

Mary Procaccio-Flowers

Mary Procaccio-Flowers, of Santa Clara County, has served as a Law Clerk at the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California since 2025.

Previously, Ms. Procaccio-Flowers served in various roles at Santa Clara University School of Law, including as an Adjunct Professor in 2025 and as an Assistant Clinical Professor from 2020 to 2025. She also worked as an Associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in 2020 and from 2012 to 2019, and served as a Law Clerk at the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California from 2019 to 2020.

Ms. Procaccio-Flowers earned her Juris Doctor degree from Santa Clara University School of Law. She fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Erica R. Yew.
