Jeremy Kroger Sworn in as Judge of the Santa Clara County Superior Court
SAN JOSÉ, California (September 11, 2026): The Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara, is pleased to announce that Jeremy Kroger took the oath of office today and officially began his service as a Judge of the Superior Court.
Governor Gavin Newsom appointed Judge Kroger to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Cindy S. Hendrickson.
“Judge Kroger brings to the bench extensive experience, a commitment to public service, and a thoughtful understanding of the legal system,” said Presiding Judge Julie Emede. “We are pleased to welcome him to the Santa Clara County Superior Court and look forward to the valuable perspective he will bring to our court.”
Judge Kroger brings nearly two decades of legal experience to the bench. Since 2014, he has served as a Deputy Public Defender with the Santa Clara County Public Defender’s Office. He previously served as an Assistant Federal Defender with the Federal Defender’s Office for the Eastern District of California from 2009 to 2014.
Earlier in his career, Judge Kroger was an Associate at Munger, Tolles & Olson from 2007 to 2009. He also served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Kenneth M. Karas of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Judge Kroger earned his Juris Doctor degree from the New York University School of Law.
