Juror Appreciation Week Celebrates Those Who Serve in Santa Clara County Courts

SAN JOSÉ, CA (May 11, 2026): The Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara proudly announces its celebration of Juror Appreciation Week, taking place May 11–15, 2026. This annual observance provides an opportunity to recognize the essential role jurors play in upholding the justice system and protecting the rights guaranteed by our democracy.

Each year, tens of thousands of Santa Clara County residents answer the call to serve as jurors, playing a vital role in upholding justice in our community.  These individuals—reflecting the diversity and strength of our communities—bring integrity, perspective, and a deep sense of civic responsibility to courtrooms throughout the county. Their service ensures that trials are fair and impartial, reinforcing public confidence in the judicial process.

During Juror Appreciation Week, the Court encourages the public to join in expressing gratitude to jurors for their service. Whether through a handwritten note, a social media message, or a simple expression of thanks, these gestures help recognize the vital contributions jurors make to our society.

“Jurors serve as the cornerstone of our justice system,” said Hon. Julie A. Emede, Presiding Judge. “Their willingness to dedicate time and thoughtful consideration to each case ensures fairness, strengthens our democracy, and upholds the rule of law. We are deeply grateful for their service.”

The Superior Court is honored to participate in this national celebration and invites all members of the community to acknowledge and appreciate the everyday citizens who make our justice system possible.
