Parking and Access Impacts Expected at Downtown San Jose Courthouses on September 11

SAN JOSÉ, California (September 11, 2026):  The Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara advises court users, jurors, attorneys, justice partners, and members of the public to plan for temporary parking and traffic restrictions near downtown San José court facilities on Friday, September 11, 2026, due to the San Jose Fire Department’s Patriot Day Commemorative Ceremony.

The event will include a parade and ceremony near Fire Station 1, resulting in temporary street closures and restricted vehicle access in the vicinity of the Downtown Superior Court (DTS), Family Justice Center Courthouse (FJC), and Old Courthouse (OCH).

All Court parking lots can be accessed without restrictions before 9:00 a.m. and after 1:00 p.m. However, Court users should anticipate traffic delays and temporary restrictions between approximately 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Of particular note:

•     Market Street will be inaccessible to vehicle traffic during the parade, approximately 10:45–11:15 a.m.

•     Access into and out of the VTA/Jurors Lot will be restricted from approximately 10:45–11:15 a.m.

Individuals with scheduled Court business are encouraged to arrive before 9:00 a.m. when possible and allow additional travel time due to anticipated traffic congestion and road closures.

Jurors reporting to DTS or OCH should plan to arrive before 9:00 a.m. Jurors should also be aware that vehicle access into and out of the VTA/Jurors Lot will be unavailable from approximately 10:45–11:15 a.m.

Court operations will continue as scheduled, and no changes to scheduled calendars are anticipated as a result of the temporary restrictions.
