Restoration of Power to Family Justice Center Courthouse: A Critical Milestone
SAN JOSÉ, California (May 1, 2024): The Santa Clara County Superior Court is pleased to announce the successful restoration of power to the Family Justice Center Courthouse (FJCC), marking a significant milestone in ensuring uninterrupted operations for the vital services provided to our community.
The journey towards restoring power began on March 4, 2024, when a critical component known as the "power bus" malfunctioned, necessitating the use of a generator. When the first generator failed, the Court learned the replacement generator was loud and disruptive to our neighbors. The Court took efforts to mitigate disturbances while ensuring essential operations continued uninterrupted.
This past weekend, additional challenges with generators culminated in Court Leadership taking swift action to demand restoration of a stable power source with PG&E.
With power now restored by PG&E, the Court reaffirms its commitment to serving the community with stability and reliability. The Court extends gratitude for the patience and understanding shown by downtown San Jose residents, businesses, and organizations for their patience during this difficult situation.
