Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara Announces Pilot Program for Aspiring Court Interpreters

SAN JOSÉ, California (July 25, 2024):  The Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara, is excited to announce its participation in a state program designed to increase the number of Court Interpreter employees. This initiative offers a unique opportunity for individuals working toward their certification credentials as interpreters and looking for an exciting and rewarding career in the court system.

The program provides selected candidates with reimbursement for costs associated with their training, coursework, and examinations to become certified court interpreters. This support aims to remove financial barriers and encourage more qualified individuals to join the judiciary as professional interpreters.

Program Requirements:

- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.

- Candidates must pass a background check before acceptance into the pilot program.

- Selected candidates must commit to working in the participating court for at least three years after passing all required examinations.

Languages in Demand:

The current languages being considered for program participation in Santa Clara County include:

- Spanish

- Vietnamese

- Mandarin
